About Us
Cedar Renewable Services LLC was created to re-imagine how goods can be transported and wildfires can be mitigated in an environmentally sustainable way. With an in-house electric step van powered by clean energy, we go beyond the status quo. Throughout all operations we look to minimize life-cycle greenhouse gases from business activity. We are credentialed, insured, and practice the highest quality professionalism.
History & Future
After decades of experience, a small group of fellow workers decided to found businesses. In July 2024 the LLC was formed in our hometown. In 2025 the electric step van was purchased and immediately put into action delivering for our favorite Grass Valley businesses such as BriarPatch Food Coop.
We are currently investing in expansions for 2026 and beyond, including:
- 100% renewable energy through the Pioneer Community Energy “Green 100” rate plan
- Purchasing our 2nd electric step van
- Growing our workforce
- Reporting on our annual greenhouse gas savings

Cedar A.
Born and raised in Nevada County, I left home for a few years to get my degree in Outdoor Adventure Leadership and Business at Southern Oregon University before returning home. Before starting my company, I worked in solar, Waldorf teaching, forestry thinning, and pine cone collection for the CalFire and USFS seed banks. I love climbing trees, surfing, swimming, camping, and wandering in wild places.

I grew up in Auburn California, moved to Sacramento for a few years then found my way to Nevada County. I have spent the last 15 plus years in the hospitality/restaurant industry as a chef. In the middle of that I went to culinary school where I graduated with honors. In my free time I love fishing, camping and spending time with my dog.

I’ve always enjoyed working outdoors with nature. When I was just 4 years old I tended to my family’s thornless blackberry patch. Not only did I care for and then pick the berries, but I’d also load them up in my Radio Flyer wagon and go door to door selling them to my neighbors. After graduating from the University of Delaware majoring in Business Management & Marketing, I started Codding’s Land Management and Soil Sciences. Since then I have been helping my clients reach their goals to have a cleaner, healthier, more fire resistant landscape to live, play and thrive in. When I’m not slashing brush or climbing trees, you can find me in the crystal clear waters of the Yuba River during the summer or on the slopes of the mighty Sierra Nevada Mountains in the winter.
